Seniors play a day early
On June 11, in order to avoid the senior tournament on Tuesday, the fun league moved to Monday just for this week. Twenty-four players enjoyed a change of format.
Everyone shot every time using the red tees with a three-man scramble in match play against an opposing three-man team. Players seemed to enjoy the close competition in four matched groups.
Listed here after are the winning teams in no particular order: Don Baer, Turk Pilker and Gene Iverson; then Mo Marcotte, Cleland Cook and Milo Gilbertson; next Elmer Mount, Lloyd Helseth and Dick Kellogg; also Pat Boyle, Guy Button and Fritz Bartels.
The grandaddy birdie putt of the day went to Vern Holter on #16 where the dropped a 69 footer. Alson on that same hole Louie Fostvedt sank a 45-foot birdie putt. Guy Button continues to sink the long putts with a 20-foot birdie on #14.
The rest of us enjoy watching the long putts drop in the cup, especially your teammates who audibly cheer when the ball finds the bottom of the cup.
The senior mens fun golf league still play on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. Come join us for some semi-serious fun golfing.
