The display consists of a flag for each military service person killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Past displays of this memorial have proven it to be a somber reminder of the sacrifices of our veterans.
The display will be available for viewing from the evening of Saturday, June 9, until Monday evening, June 11. A hillside on the south side of Volin has been selected for the display.

Of special interest is a visit by Tour de Kota bicyclists to Volin on Monday. The USD Veterans club is escorting a disabled veteran who is riding on the tour and will stop at the memorial.
Due to the large number of flags – around 3,800 – volunteers are needed to help set up on Saturday at 1 p.m. The public is invited to visit the flag memorial over the weekend.
