On June 19, 2007, President Connie Kendall opened the Sons of Norway, Lillehammer Lodge, #1-633 meeting at the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Yankton. The meeting opened at 7 p.m. with the national anthems of Norway and the U.S., and the US flag pledge.
The secretary read the minutes of the May meeting.
The financial report was given by Gene Iverson.
It was decided that the July meeting would be an indoor picnic at 5:30 p.m., July 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Yankton. This meeting will be held Monday, July 16 to accommodate the program presenter. Members are asked to bring salads and dessert to add to the menu of chicken that will be ordered.
The Riverboat Days float committee consists of Earl Reese, Don Thompson and Don List.
Members are reminded to attend the Midsommer Fest at Dalesburg Lutheran on June 22 with a meal available from 4 to 7 p.m. Earl and Diane Reese will take care of an information table for Sons of Norway to interest new members. Connie Kendall and JoAnn Christensen will be helping with this.
Opdahlslag information was read and registration forms and information sheets are available for anyone interested in attending. This will be held Sept. 8 and 9 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville.
The June birthday list was read and the birthday song sung for them.
The excellent entertainment was barbershop music by four women who started singing together in high school, Three Cousins and a Friend. They got together again and sang at Barbershop Chorus afterglow's, won a local talent contest and currently entertain in the Yankton area. Members are Esther Lien Koehlmoos, Sandra Hazen Brewer, Sophie Hazen Merrigan, and Valorie Severson Phillip.
The Norwegian table prayer was led by John Grindvold and lunch and fellowship were enjoyed by all.
