Ice cream social was held July 18

Trinity Lutheran Church's unit of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America sponsored its annual ice cream social on Wednesday, July 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at 816 E. Clark St.

Cindy Osborne and Pat Meyers chaired the 15-member committee, which was assisted by men and youth from the congregation.

Pastor Judith Johnson greeted members of the congregation and guests from the community as they arrived for the meal. The menu included taverns, chips, homemade pies, cakes, ice cream, lemonade and coffee.

Proceeds from the ice cream social are deposited in the missionary fund of Trinity's Women of the ELCA, which provides partial financial support for an ELCA missionary.
