Save up to $30 on soy biodiesel July 11

The first 100 customers at the pump can save up to $30 when filling up with soy biodiesel on Wednesday, July 11, at the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. The South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council is sponsoring the promotion, which will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Centerville area FFA students will be at the promotion greeting customers and helping them fill up with soy biodiesel. The promotional event highlights the importance of using soy biodiesel, derived from soybean oil, as an alternative to imported foreign oil.

"Soy biodiesel is good for the farmer and good for America. With high fuel prices on the minds of many individuals this summer, it's a good time to top off your tank and save," said South Dakota Soybean Association Biodiesel Committee Chair Dan Feige.

Soy biodiesel is a domestic, renewable fuel for diesel engines and meets the specifications of ASTM D 6751. Biodiesel can be used in any diesel engine with few or no modifications and is a cleaner-burning alternative to petroleum diesel.
