Stingers are 2 and 2 in doubleheader action

Vermillion's Stingers went 2-2 against two South Dakota top teams in league play in Sioux Falls. On June 13 they faced SF Flash in a losing doubleheader – then won a doubleheader on June 18, over SF Extreme.

SF Flash is the #1 team in South Dakota. Jenny Bye pitched both ends of the double header losing 5-3 and 1-0. Her performances were admirable but Vermillion's offense was pretty much shut down.

Jenny recorded 7 Ks in the first game, while giving up 5 hits and 3 walks. Brittany Bye was 1 for 3 (a homer which drove in 3 runs); Molly LeCates was 1 for 3, 1 run; Chelsea Houska � 1 for 3; and Jenny Bye � 1 for 3, 1 run.

In the second game the Stingers could muster only 3 hits (2 by Jenny and 1 by Houska) while the home team had 6 in the seven-inning marathon.

The next doubleheader was a twin win over SF Extreme by scores of 7-0, and 1-0. Jenny Bye claimed both victories, giving up 3 hits in the first game, then tossing a no-run 5-hitter in the nightcap.

In the second game, Jenny Bye was again the winning pitcher with a shutout in a five-inning time-constrained game.
