Under-14 girls' go 3-2 at state tournament

The Vermillion Impact girls' fastpitch softball team topped Madison X-treme 8-6 in their opening game of the under-14 B Division State Tournament on Friday, July 13 in Sioux Falls then lost to Wagner TNT on the last play of the game that evening, 5-4.

Saturday, playing in the losers' bracket of the double elimination tournament, they blew away Sioux Falls Showplace Wood 18-5 then knocked off Rapid City Cold fire 9-6. Their tournament run came to an end with a loss to Mitchell Sign Pro, 15-3.

The Impact will be playing their league tournament July 20, 21, 22 in Alcester. The team was undefeated during summer league play.
