International exchange high school students to study in Vermillion area

International exchange high school students are coming to study in the Vermillion area during the 2007-08 school year. These students will integrate themselves into a Vermillion area family with the goal of experiencing American culture as an American high school student does. In turn they will provide insight into their own culture.

STS Foundation, a nonprofit student exchange organization, is proud to help facilitate these relationships.� They have been doing so for the past 20 years and look forward to finding new host families in Vermillion and connecting them with exchange students.

Students this year include Jesper, a 17-year-old Swedish boy from Stockholm who enjoys playing many sports. Soccer, football, baseball and hockey are some of his favorites. He also loves traveling and geography; he is very excited to learn more about the people and culture of America.

Meri is a 17-year-old girl from Finland who loves ice skating and practices every day; she competes on a synchronized skating team. She is thrilled to be spending an academic year in the USA.

Both are excellent students and will have their own spending money and health insurance. The host family provides a separate bed, family meals and a safe environment.
