Sheridan named USD golf coach; Klyse appointed interim softball coach
Tim Sheridan has been named head coach of the men's and women's golf programs and Amy Klyse has been appointed interim head coach of the women's softball team at The University of South Dakota, according to an announcement by USD Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen.

Sheridan will oversee all aspects of the Coyote men's and women's golf programs. A member of the PGA, Sheridan is the director of instruction and head teaching professional for the Dakota Golf Academy at Prairie Green golf course in Sioux Falls. A board member for the South Dakota Golf Association, he is also the director of golf for Austad's in Sioux Falls.

Klyse, who begins her second season with the Coyotes, will serve as interim head softball coach during the 2007-08 year. Last season, Klyse served as an assistant coach and the pitching coach for the Coyotes.


Klyse, who graduated from Augustana in 2003.

with a degree in communications, was a 2002 and 2003 All-North Central Conference selection as a pitcher for the Vikings. She was named NCC Pitcher of the Week five times and left Augustana as the single-season strikeout leader at Augustana.

After graduation, she remained at Augustana and served as the pitching coach. Klyse has also served as an assistant softball varsity coach at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School and pitching coach at the University of Sioux Falls.
