Tanager boys’ golf wins at Dakota Valley

The Tanager varsity golf team repeated their winning ways as they captured the championship at the 10-team Dakota Valley Invitational Tournament, with a 302 score.

The Tourney was contested at Two Rivers golf course in North Sioux City on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

The other top five teams were: Harrisburg (second – 315); SF Christian (third – 319); West Central (fourth – 323); and Dakota Valley (fifth – 328).

Harrisburg's Nolan Meyer was medalist with a 72 score. For the Tanagers, Jordan Boots and Alex Schaack tied for second with 73; Broc Gauer was fifth with a 77. Aaron Steele was tied at ninth (79) and Mikal Ustad tied for 12th (80).

There was a JV division and Vermillion placed fifth, behind SF Christian, Dakota Valley, EP/J and Dell Rapids. However, Eric Ustad led the Tanagers with JV medalist honors, scoring a 75. Also, Patrick Haught placed fifth (87); Cole Andre – 11th (90); and Dominick Jones – 34th (114).
