Tanager golf team claims first

On Aug. 13, the Tanager golf team put on a great show at the West Central Early Bird Tournament, contested at Central Valley Golf Course in Hartford, when they dominated the 16-team field to take the championship with a 309 score. The other top five teams were Harrisburg (second, 320); SF Christian (third – 326); West Central (fourth – 328); and Elk Point/Jefferson (fifth – 339).

Vermillion's Broc Gauer was medalist with a 71 score; Alex Schaack – fourth (76); Jordan Boots and Mikal Ustad tied for 11th and Aaron Steele tied for 14th (82).

There was a JV division, but Vermillion did not enter it (too early in the season).
