On Friday, Aug, 17, the Tanager golf team climaxed the week by claiming their third championship in five days. This time it was at the Milbank 14-team invitational tournament, contested at the Milbank Golf Course.
Vermillion led the top five teams with a 311. Other placers were Aberdeen Roncalli (second 328); Milbank (third – 339); Aberdeen Central (fourth – 343); and West Central (fifth – 344).
Max Pfieffer (Aberdeen Roncalli) was medalist with a 73 score, and West Central's Ryan Smith was second with a 75. For the Tanagers, Jordan Boots, Aaron Steele, and Alex Schaack tied for third (77); Eric Ustad – tied for 11th (80) and Broc Gauer was 17th (85).
There was a JV division but Vermillion did not have a complete entry. However, Mikal Usdad was JV medalist with a 76, and Cole Andre placed third with an 83.
