The Dakota Writing Project invites pre-service teachers of all disciplines and grade levels to the Dakota Writing Project Pre-service Teachers' Writing Retreat on Sept. 21-22. The retreat will focus on the importance of writing in all disciplines and grade levels.
University students who are planning to teach can learn more about the importance of writing and effective strategies for teaching writing by registering for the retreat, which is Friday, Sept. 21, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The University of South Dakota in Vermillion. This event is open to pre-service teachers at all grade levels and in any discipline.
Retreat topics will include reviewing the writing/learning connection, using writing as a learning tool as well as applying writing strategies across the curriculum.
