Wellsfry most recently worked as IT manager for Midstates Printing in Aberdeen. Previously, he worked as a senior IT engineer at Gateway in North Sioux City. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force specializing in automated logistics systems.

Wellsfry earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Oregon and holds many professional certifications including Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Administrator, and Novell Certified Network Administrator.
