Will celebrate 70 years

Herbert and Violet Fickbohm will be observing their 70th wedding anniversary Aug. 23. Herbert E. Fickbohm and the former Virgie Violet Offerdahl were married Aug. 23, 1937, at rural Peace Lutheran Church in Alcester.

Their children are Herbert V. Fickbohm of Vermillion and Sally Ann Mettler of Stevensville, MI. They have eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Herb retired after 26 years in 1979 from Clay Union Electric in Vermillion.
