District VI Garden Clubs, Centerville, Vermillion and Wakonda, held their annual meeting at the Vermillion Senior Center, Saturday Aug. 25. Visitors from Gayville and Sioux Falls were present. State president, Margaret Stryle installed officers for 2007-2008. April Borders, county Extension agent from Yankton, was the speaker.
She gave an enlightening talk on lawn care and types of grass to plant. Many questions were answered.
A flower show with �peoples choice� took place. A salad luncheon was served by the Vermillion Garden Club. The afternoon ended with a plant sale and door prizes.
In 2008, the Centerville Garden Club will host the annual meeting.
