A number of activities for all ages are being planned, but primary to the event is the celebration of the scarecrows. What a huge variety we have seen over the years. Creativity is never at a loss.
Everyone is invited to create a scarecrow and enter it into the contest. The scarecrows will be sold at auction at 2 p.m. – last year, there were over 60 entries, and the top-selling scarecrow sold for $135.

Over 40 crafters will take part in the festival. Other events scheduled for the day include kids' games, a petting zoo, a jumping cage, face painting, cow pie lottery, a chain saw artist and free entertainment in the gazebo located in Akron's City Park.
A variety of food will also be available, including brats, taco-in-a-bag, funnel cakes and home-made pie.
