U.S. Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD) announced Aug. 31 that the University of South Dakota will receive a $263,415 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Upward Bound Math and Science program to prepare high school students for careers in the fields of math and science.
"I'm pleased to see the University of South Dakota receive this funding, and know that students throughout the state will excel because of it," said Johnson. "It is crucial that we continue encouraging students from all corners of our state to succeed in higher education, and Upward Bound has a long track record of providing the preparation that students need."
