Rachel and Jessica Brady receive honors at pageant

Rachel Brady was crowned 2007 Petite Miss South Dakota. She received the�Petite Miss�Prettiest Smile Award and placed first in the talent category in which she performed a baton twirling routine.

Jessica Brady was named Pre-Teen Miss South Dakota Royalty, placing�second runner-up. She also received the Pre-Teen Prettiest Smile Award.

The Little Miss South Dakota Scholarship Pageant was held Sept. 15 at the historic Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls.

The pageant is designed to develop self confidence in the participants where they are judged in five different categories: casual wear, interview, party dress, talent and personality which includes an onstage interview. The pageant is open�to girls from ages 0-12 from the state of South Dakota.�

Rachel is 6 years old and attends first grade at Austin Elementary. Jessica is 11 years old and attends fifth grade at Jolley Elementary. Both girls are the daughters of James Brady and Dena Bloomenrader-Brady of Vermillion. The girls' coaches are Deb Coaker of Vermillion and Heather Reeves-Johnson formerly of Vermillion.
