The Vermillion Tanagers girls' varsity soccer team extended its winning streak to five games, beating Sioux Falls Christian 5-0.
Cori Bonti lead the Tanagers with three goals and one assist. Margaret Muller and Hannah Nelich-Arobba each had a goal.
"We started off slow against SF Christian. They came out very strong putting our defense on their heels," said head coach Dave LaCombe. "The key to the game continues to be the defense allowing our offense to be strong. After losing our opener against St. Thomas Moore, the team has gone on a 5-0 run allowing only two goals in five games."
The Tanagers play against West Central Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. in Sioux Falls.
