Tanagers compete at Don Baker Invitational

The USD Don Baker Invitational Cross Country Meet was held on Saturday Sept. 8 at the old Vermillion golf course, involving both the boys' and girls' varsity and JV divisions. No team scores were compiled.

Girls varsity results were: Bailey Brees (SFR) first, 14:57.45. For the Tanagers: Lydia Ford, ninth, 16:42.03; and Blair Gilkyson, 10th, 16:48.09.

Also running for Vermillon were: Sophie Nehlich-Arobba, 17th; Jana Bye, 24th; Hannah Nehlich-Arobba, 23rd; Emily Renner, 25th and Celeste Sawyers, 19th.

Junior varsity results: Beth Szymonski,VHS, first, 8:45.8, a course record; Cassie Donahoe, VHS, third, 9:09.25.

Boys' varsity results: Bill Kogel, SFR, first, 16:02.55. For Vermillion: Casey Carlson, ninth, 18:35.92; Broc Gauer, 15th, 18:56.59; Brad Orr, 24th; Dexter Mehlhaf 25th; Ryan Angelo, 27th; D.J. Donahoe, 31st; and Isaac Druin, 33rd.

JV division (3000M): Alex Card, second, 12:10.45; Robert Osterberg, fourth, 12:41.38; Nick Britten, sixth; Tevin Boehrns, ninth; Christian Davis, 10th; and Matthew Moore, 12th.
