South Dakota played its second straight overtime match. On Friday, the Coyotes tied Fort Lewis College 2-2 in double overtime.
In the match with Mesa State Sunday, the Coyotes scored first when junior Angela O'Loughlin (Broomfield, CO) recorded an unassisted goal at the 14:18 mark of the first half. O'Loughlin led USD with four shots, including two on-goal.

At that point, the defenses for both teams shut the door to any scoring chances. Late in the match, Mesa State pulled even with the Coyotes on a goal by Ashley Nemmers at the 78:18 mark. Mallory Reid was credited with an assist on the scoring play.
In the first overtime, Mesa State's Christina Pauley scored the game-winner on an unassisted goal at the 93:47 marks.
The Coyotes' goal keeper, Ann Opsahl (Yankton), allowed just two goals and recorded nine saves.
