USD student arrested for rape

The Vermillion Police Department arrested a University of South Dakota student Sept. 19 as they investigated a reported rape which occurred in a residence hall on the campus of The University of South Dakota.

The incident was reported Friday, Sept. 14. Zachary Larson, 19, was arrested on Wednesday. He is charged with rape in the second degree which is a Class 1 felony.

At the time of the incident, both Larson and the female victim, 18, were students at USD and resided in Beede Hall. Larson is originally from Blaine, MN.
