The concert is open to the public free of charge and will be held in Colton Recital Hall of the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts on The University of South Dakota campus.
The trio members are on the faculty of the Department of Music and include John Thomson, violin, Marie-Elaine Gagnon, cello and Susan Keith Gray, piano. The concert will include works by Beethoven, Joaquin Turina and Clara Schumann.
Founded in 1987, the Rawlins Piano Trio performs regularly throughout the United States and abroad, including prestigious concert series, television and radio broadcasts, appearances at conferences and educational outreach to young audiences. In 2004 and again in 2006, the trio made successful concert and teaching tours throughout Taiwan.
The trio has formed a reputation as a preeminent interpreter of 19th and early 20th century American music and has recorded three CDs of these works on the Albany Records label.
