Vermillion junior varsity softball defeats Pipestone

The Vermillion Tanagers' junior varsity softball team scored two victories in a double header with Pipestone Sept. 9.

Vermillion won the first game 6-2, and the second competition 17-11.

In the first game, Lizzie Bye pitched a complete game, striking out six batters. Lindsay Robinet went 2 for 3 with a RBI. She also had a stolen base. Carlee Sorensen was 2 for 2 with a run scored and two stolen bases.

Lizzie Bye, Claire Jones, Sami Girard, and Beth Szymonski each pitched in the second game, and they all contributed to the five innings by rule victory.

Jones, Robinet, and Sorensen each were 2 for 3 batting; Szymonski and Girard both went 2 for 2 at bats.
