VHS students prepare for homecoming
Students at Vermillion High School are inviting the community to join with them as they celebrate Homecoming next week with a variety of activities.

On Thursday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m., the coronation of this year's royalty will be held in the high school gym.

This year's queen candidates are: Stacy Bottolfson, Alicia Brown, Denell Dykstra, Alicia Hesla, Raychel Lorenz and Alexa Walker.

King candidates are Jackson Freidel, Luke Heine, Tyler Husby, Jordan Merrigan, Thomas Mollet and Alex Schaack.

Candleholders will be Molly Greenfield, Hannah Korcuska, Erin Rasmussen, Emily Renner, Michela Telleria, Olivia VanDenHul, Alex Anderson-Kahl, Jordan Boots, Casey Carlson, Garret Jepsen, Billy Kjelden and Mikal Ustad.

Gabbie Richard will be carrier of the queen's bouquet, and Broc Gauer will be envelope carrier.

Following coronation, the cheer squad invites everyone to the burning of the "V" and a pep rally which will take place near the tennis courts which will conclude with a fireworks show by Tom Taylor.

After the coronation ceremonies, a royalty tea will be held in the high school commons for parents, royalty, and teaching staff.

At 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, the Tanager football team will face Canton in the DakotaDome.
