Not only are the St. James Five inviting quilt lovers to view their display but also inviting quilt makers the opportunity to put their talents on display as well.
The ladies are making room in the old schoolhouse for old quilts of gone-by-days but also any quilt made no matter what year or age. The stage area will be set up for baby and dolly quilts. Hopefully, a whole room will be devoted to wedding ring quilts. The ladies hope to have at least one hundred quilts on display and maybe more.
The viewing hours will be from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on both days with lunch available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. including door prizes. The Marketplace and all the vendor displays will also be available to the public.
The Marketplace will be open on Thursday, Oct. 18; from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. to accept any quilts for display and Friday will be hang up day.
Admission is $3 and is a fund-raising activity for the Corps of Discovery Welcome Center, a non-profit organization with a visitors stop on Hwy 81 overlooking the bluffs three miles south of Yankton.
