Schuneman family honored as 2007 USD Family of the Year
The Schuneman family of Milbank will be honored as the 2007 Family of the Year during Family Weekend activities at The University of South Dakota, Oct. 26-27.

Nominated by Stephanie Moser, director of admissions at USD, Bill and Jill Schuneman's support of higher education is extraordinary, particularly at USD, where three of their four children have either graduated or are attending classes.

The Schunemans' oldest daughter, Molly Schuneman Uhing, graduated from USD with her bachelor's degree in 2001 and received her M.D. in 2005 from the Sanford School of Medicine.

Two of the Schunemans' youngest children, Rob, a junior, and Marnie, a freshman, are also students at USD. As a chemistry major, Marnie received the USD Presidential scholarship and, like her older sister, received the USD Medical School Alumni Scholarship. The Schunemans' oldest son, Tom, attended Midland Lutheran College and is currently the owner and general manager at Grant County Implement in Milbank.

Both Bill and Jill Schuneman earned their degrees from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Bill is past president of the Milbank Chamber of Commerce and Milbank Industrial Development while Jill has been a substitute teacher in Milbank for 25 years. They remain very active in the community and their church.
