Students of the Month

Hannah Korcuska and Casey Carlson were recently selected as the September Students of the Month at Vermillion High School. These two seniors were recognized for their leadership and efforts in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities. Each will receive a $100 scholarship from First Bank & Trust-Vermillion.

Korcuska "is an outstanding young lady. She represents VHS very well," according to her faculty endorsement. She is involved with Student Council, track, volleyball, National Honor Society, class officer, SADD, and Natural Helpers.

She intends to major in English at college. Her parents are Lisa and Jim Korcuska.

"Casey is always involved in what is being presented in class. He is respectful to me and his classmates," as written by his faculty nomination. His parents are Mike and Kathy Carlson.

Carlson is active in cross country, Student Council, wrestling, Natural Helpers, soccer, SADD, National Honor Society, and Suicide Awareness. He plans to study Athletic Training and Physical Therapy in college.
