Tanager girls' soccer score 4-0 shutout against Sturgis

The Vermillion Tanagers varsity girls' soccer team scored another shut out Sept. 7 against Sturgis with a score of 4-0.

"We just performed very well tonight," said head coach Dave LaCombe. "Our passing, crossing and finishing have started to click. We out shot Sturgis 2-1."

Cori Bonti lead the Tanagers with two goals, Sophie Nelich-Arobba and Margo Mueller each had one goal. Hannah Nelich-Arobba and Bonti each had an assist. Tasha Donnelly had two saves and Jenna Peterson had one save preserving the shutout.

"We had strong performances not only from our offensive end but from our defense back four lead by Sam Massey, Angie Christensen, Casey North, Megan Amundson and Lacy Leichtman," coach LaCombe said. "Everyone played very well and I am very pleased with the team performance."
