USD's Tim Stanek named NCC Special Teams Player of the Week
The University of South Dakota's Tim Stanek has been named the North Central Conference Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in USD's 31-7 loss at NCAA Division I FCS McNeese State University.

The announcement came from the league office in Sioux Falls.

It is the first time in Stanek's career that he has won the award. The sophomore punter from Walthill, NE, averaged 41.5 yards per punt.


He punted four times on the night for a total of 166 yards. In addition, Stanek placed two of his four punts inside the McNeese State 20-yard line.

On the season, Stanek is averaging 39.3 yards per punt. He has placed six of his punts inside the opponents 20 yard line and his season-high punt is 47.
