Volleyball team suffers loss to Madison Lady Bulldogs
On Thursday, Oct. 2nd, Vermillion hosted the Madison Lady Bulldogs in a varsity, JV, and freshman volleyball combined match, with the varsity team losing 28-25, 22-25, 13-25, 19-25.

(Abbreviation Key): A = Ace, B = Block, D = Dig, K = Kill, SA = Set Assist.

Tanager player statistical results: Raychel Lorenz – 12 SA, 4 D, 1 A; Alicia Brown – 6 K, 15 D, 3 B; Thania Mara Faria – 4 K, 1 B, 8 SA, 1 A, 7 D; Brittany Bye – 1 K, 1 A, 4 D, 4 B; Alexa Walker – 26 D.


Coach Lenni Billberg evaluated the night's play. "For our performance, we were lucky to keep the match so close. It was just one of those nights when nothing worked for us. As a positive note, we played one of the top teams in the state, on our worst night, and still competed," she said.

The JV team lost 1-2, scoring 25-23, 24-26. 9-15.

Assistant coach Jamie Baedke said, "We played as well as possible, but came up short."

The freshman team lost 0-2 scoring 18-25, 15-25.
