As the Christmas season approaches, it is time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is a time for giving, a time for helping our fellow man, a time to teach our children the joy of giving and not just receiving.
This year there are eight ESA Giving Trees with the wishes of over 235 Vermillion children (102 families). Trees are located at Pamida, Hy-Vee, Nook 'n Cranny/Never Never Land, Jones' Food Center, the Vermillion Public Library, Wal-Mart, Market Street Caf, and USD's North Complex. Each tree is decorated with tags listing several items that a child would like for Christmas and donation envelopes. The tags may be taken from a tree, a present bought or made, and returned to any one of the above mentioned stores. Please be sure the tag is attached to the gift when you return so that the family's number and child's number is on the gift.
The members of Theta Omega Chapter of ESA would like to thank the Phi Delta Theta fraternity for their continued support of our ESA Giving Tree project. The Phi Delta's have helped us carry, sort and shop for last minutes gifts.
To the owners and employees of Pamida, Hy-Vee, Nook 'n Cranny, Never Never Land, Jones Food Center, the Vermillion Public Library, and the men of Phi Delta Theta fraternity for so graciously giving of their time to help us with this very special Christmas project and a special thank you the people of Vermillion who have been so generous and have helped us to bring smiles to the faces of these children on Christmas morning. All gifts donated to the ESA Giving Trees will remain in Vermillion.
