The concert will take place Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. in the Great Hall at the Washington Pavilion.
The performance will be presented as a semi-staged opera with costuming, acting and professional vocalists. English supertitles will be projected for the audience. Concert-goers can expect a full two hours and 30 minutes of enlightenment.
The concert staging with its outstanding cast is the perfect vehicle for the music of Puccini and the drama of jealousy, love and murder during Napoleon's advance on Rome.
"The Yankton Children's Choir is so excited to perform Tosca with the South Dakota Symphony. The choir has worked hard in preparation for the performance, and they will be rewarded with a professional and memorable experience," said Rachel Moser, associate director for the Yankton Children's Choir.
All concert-goers are welcome to attend an in-depth lecture about the concert repertoire starting at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall.
This Nov. 17 performance is sponsored by Avera McKennan.
