Sophomore Ramsey Kavan finished second and helped The University of South Dakota women's cross country team qualify for nationals at the North Central Regional Championships. The Coyote men's team placed 12th at the regional championships which were held on the Don Baker Memorial Course on the USD campus.
In her first regional competition as a Coyote, Kavan (Yankton) clocked a 6K time of 20:55.05 and finished behind individual champion Tanya Gaurmer of Adams State (20:44.63). In all, USD had five women's runners finish in the top 40. For the fifth time in seven years, the Coyote women's cross country team has qualified for nationals.
