Tanager volleyball team defeats the Lady Trojans

On Thursday, Sept. 27, Vermillion traveled to Hartford to face the West Central Lady Trojans in a combined match involving varsity, JV and freshman teams. The varsity team won 25-15, 17-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Tanager player statistical results: Raychel Lorenz – 24 SA, 4 D; Alicia Brown – 9 K, 22 D, 2 B; Thania Mara Faria – 12 K, 2 B, 14 SA, 3 A, 6 D; Brittany Bye – 7 K, 1 A. 5 D.

Coach Lenni Billberg evaluated the performance. "A great match for us. We dominated all facets of the game. An important spark came from Thania, both offensively and on the serve. DeNell Dykstra also stepped up her offense with six timely kills."

The JV team won 2-0, scoring 25-19, 25-22.

Assistant coach Jamie Baedke said, "We played a positive game as we continue our progress to a great season."
