Associates at Vermillion's Wal-Mart, located at 1207 Princeton Street, will ring bells from 10:30 to 11 a.m. that day.
During this 30-minute event, associates at stores across the country will staff the famous red kettles, ringing bells and inviting customers to support the annual campaign.
Last year, The Salvation Army collected a record $30 million from Wal-Mart stores and Sam's Club locations, the most raised by any partner – accounting for 25 percent of all contributions to the Red Kettle Campaign during the Christmas season.
Funds donated by customers helped The Salvation Army to serve 35 million people by providing basic social services such as food, shelter, clothing and financial assistance.
Wal-Mart has partnered with The Salvation Army for more than 20 years, providing a place for volunteer bell ringers to place their kettles and collect donations which help people in need in local communities nationwide.
