Joyce Davis (center, front row) of Vermillion was the big winner in Hy-Vee's Grands for Brands promotion this week. She was selected to participate in the event after Ron Avery, store manager, selected her name in a drawing. She was visited at home by a group of Hy-Vee employees Monday afternoon. Avery paid Davis $100 for each unique Hy-Vee brand product found in her household, up to a limit of 25 products. Davis produced more than that amount, and she was awarded the maximum prize: $2,500 in cash, plus a bouquet of roses. Pictured with Davis are Hy-Vee staffers Kurt Kuiper, manager perishables; Ruth Bates, manager of general merchandise; Jared Sergeant, assistant manager store operations; and Avery.
