VHS had trailed by one at halftime.
The season-opening win gave VHS a record of 1-0 while Harrisburg boys fell to 0-1.

"For the first game of the year, we played very well," said VHS coach Jon Brooks. "We had a strong start and finished the game off with some key defensive steps."
The Tanagers led 14-3 at the end of the first period, trailed 19-18 at halftime, and then held a lead of 32-28 going into the final period.
VHS hit 0 of 3 three-point tries and hit 6 of 12 from the line. The Tanagers connected on 18 of 40 field goal attempts, while Harrisburg boys were 12 of 54 from the field. Harrisburg boys sank 5 of 12 three-point attempts and sank 8 of 12 from the line.
The winners needed good efforts from several performers.
"Tavish Bartlett had a great effort and scored 18 points," Coach Brooks said.
