Vermillion had trailed by one going into the final period.

"The girls played a great game! Down the stretch, the girls came through with some good pressure defense," said Vermillion coach Lori Jerred. "McKenzie Huska sealed the win with a clutch free throw."
Both sides were plagued by turnovers, with the Tanagers turning it over 26 times, and the Tigers committing 29 turnovers.
The Tanagers jumped ahead 9-8 after the opening period, went into the locker room up 16-14 at halftime, and then trailed 25-24 going into the fourth quarter.
Vermillion hit 1 of 7 three-point tries and connected on 5 of 11 free throw tries. The Tanagers hit 19 of 40 field goal attempts, while Harrisburg girls were 9 of 28 from the field. Harrisburg girls hit 1 of 4 three-point tries and connected on 13 of 21 free throw tries.
