VHS JV loses to Tigers
The Vermillion Tanagers junior varsity fell to the Harrisburg Tigers 49-55 in boys' basketball Dec. 7 at Harrisburg.

The season-opening loss gave VHS a record of 0-1 while Harrisburg boys are at 1-0.

The Tanagers fell behind 13-4 after the first quarter, trailed 21-29 at halftime, and were behind 35-40 going into the final period.

"We played hard and showed signs of good things," said VHS coach Jon Reuvers. "We need to work on a few key areas for our next game."

VHS connected on 2 of 8 three-point attempts and hit 11 of 22 free throw attempts. The Tanagers connected on 18 of 42 from the field, while Harrisburg was 23 of 53 from the field. Harrisburg connected on 3 of 10 three-point attempts and made 6 of 13 free-throw attempts.

The Tigers held a 30-26 edge on the boards.
