Christian Morton named to AFCA 2007 Division II Coaches' All-America Team
For the first time in his career, Christian Morton has been honored by the American Football Coaches Association as he has been named to the AFCA Division II Coaches' All-America Team. The University of South Dakota center is one of 25 players named to the team.

This is the fourth time in his career that Morton (Sr., Norfolk, NE) has been selected to an All-America team. Following the 2006 season he was named to the Daktronics, Inc. first team, the Football Gazette first team and the second team.

So far this season, he has already received multiple honors. He has already been picked to the Daktronics, Inc. All-Northwest Region first team, the All-NCC first team and was named the USD Offensive Player of the Year.

Thanks to the performance by Morton on the offensive line, the Coyote offense was able to rank as one of the best units in the nation. South Dakota finished the regular season as the ninth-ranked team in total offense (496.2 ypg), eighth in rushing (263.5 ypg) and 41st in scoring offense (31.4 ppg) in NCAA Division II. Additionally, USD allowed just 16 sacks on the season, which ranked them 35th in the nation. Morton finished the season without allowing a sack.

South Dakota finished the season with a 6-5 record overall and were 5-3 in the North Central Conference. Of their 11 games, six were against nationally-ranked teams.
