Erickson named NCC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Emma Erickson of The University of South Dakota women's track and field team has been named the North Central Conference Track Athlete of the Week, according to an announcement on Jan. 29 by the league office.

Erickson was honored by the NCC after recording the best 800-meter time in NCAA Division II at the Alumni Graphic Edge Meet on Saturday at the DakotaDome.

Erickson, who earned her second NCC women's track athlete of the week honor this season, won the women's 800-meter run with a DakotaDome record of 2:10.29.

She finished just nine hundredths of a second away from the school record of 2:10.20 that Jennifer Munyan established at the 1997 Indoor Nationals. Erickson also anchored the Coyotes' 4×400-meter relay to a title in 4:01.95.

The USD track and field teams will travel to the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite in Lincoln, NE, on Feb. 1-2.
