The South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service, Southeast Co-op in Elk Point and the South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council are sponsoring an estate planning series Feb. 2 and March 3 at the elevator.
These sessions will begin at 9 a.m. each day. Southeast Farmers Co-op is picking up the registration fee for the program as a way of saying thanks to area residents for 100 years of patronage.
The two separate sessions will deal with many aspects of estate planning and farm transitions. Topics will include family business meetings, distributing non-titled and titled assets, determining if your operation is big enough to bring in another operator, tax-related issues, development of a trust, utilizing life insurance and long term care insurance, durable power of attorney, and other topics related to your estate plan.
