Hazardous travel

A highway patrol officer keeps watch over a semi truck and trailer that landed in the ditch after a traffic accident Monday on Highway 50 near the east overpass in Vermillion. Falling snow, whipped by wind, and icy conditions prompted the highway patrol to issue a winter weather driving advisory for portions of eastern South Dakota. Motorists were urged to heed the ever changing driving conditions caused by the snow and wind.
