First Bank & Trust will reward these two seniors with $100 scholarships in recognition of their classroom and extra-curricular efforts.
Schaack "is a great contributor, has a good attitude, and is not afraid to share his insights in my class," according to his faculty endorsement. He intends to study software engineering at SD School of Mines & Technology, Iowa State University or South Dakota State University.

His activities include National Honor Society, student mentor, basketball, baseball and Natural Helpers.
This past summer he attended the Youth Business Adventure and the Statewide Entrepreneur Education Academy, and this fall he completed his sixth varsity golf season with a state team championship. His parents are Tom and Peggy Schaack.
Lorenz "is engaged, does quality work and is a team player – working well with any student I put her with in lab. She is a top notch student," as related in her recommendation. Her parents are Dave and Jeaneite Lorenz.
Student Council, volleyball, dance team, gymnastics, National Honor Society, piano and chorus are among her activities. She was an American Legion Award winner and a Hero of Character. Additionally, she was selected to attend the Governor's Leadership banquet and South Dakota Girls State.
Lorenz plans to attend either the University of South Dakota or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to major in nutrition or pre-med.
