Lorraine Weiss was born Aug. 15, 1928 in Parkston, to Stephan and Elizabeth (Tischler) Weiss. She graduated from Parkston High School, and married Paul Griffin on Nov. 4, 1946 in Yankton.
Lorraine was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas (Lynn) Griffin of Goodhope, MN, Steven Griffin of St. Michael, MN, and Garry Griffin of Sioux Falls; and three daughters, Karol Nelson of Bonanza, OR, Bonnie (Joe) Schulke of Mammoth, AZ, and Kathy (Mike) Carlson of Vermillion. She is also survived by a sister, Jane (Mel) Winckler of Tyndall; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Tully of Wilkins Twp, PA; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul; three brothers; two sisters; and a great-grandson, Garrin Paul Boresma.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion, with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery rural Vermillion. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
