The Vermillion Tanagers were defeated by the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies 27-10 in girls' basketball Jan. 15 at home.

"We made too many mistakes and our rebounding was less than desired," said VHS coach Nick Mayer.

The Tanagers trailed 10-2 at the end of the first period, trailed 16-4 at halftime, and then trailed 25-6 after the third quarter.


The loss dropped VHS to a record of 0-5, while EPJ improved to 3-2.

VHS connected on 0 of 2 free throw attempts while the Huskies connected on 0 of 5 from the line.
