Tanager freshmen fall to Lennox
The Vermillion Tanagers were defeated by the Lennox Orioles 37-31 in boys' basketball Dec. 11 at home as the winners held the lead after each quarter.

"The team gave a great effort," said VHS coach Jon Brooks. "Everyone played hard and we played a great second half. Lennox is a good team and we just came up a little short."

LHS jumped in front 13-4 after the first quarter, and held an edge of 13-12 in the second quarter. VHS had an advantage of 7-2 in the third period to shave the deficit to only 28-23 going into the final period.

The loss dropped VHS to a record of 1-1, while LHS improved to 1-0.

VHS hit 0 of 2 three-pointers and hit 3 of 6 free throw attempts. The Tanagers hit 14 of 32 from the field, while LHS was 17 of 36 from the field. LHS hit 0 of 2 three-point tries and hit 3 of 5 free-throw attempts.
