"We hit on a lot of our routines, but we just had a difficult time pulling it together on the beam," said coach Mark Upward. "Against Madison, we actually hit all the routines and scored a 126. We will need at least that good of a performance if we hope to land the second spot at state."

The junior varsity gymnasts scored a season high 48.65, but were bested by Yankton's 76.3 points. Cassie Donahoe placed fourth in the All-Around competition with 13.95 points. Other Tanagers placing were Rory Tucker (FX), 6, second; Jade Fostvedt (FX), 5.6, fourth; Alexis Reich (FX), tied fifth; Morgan Hower (UB), 3.85, first; Ciara Zimiga (UB), 3.35, third; and Grace Olson (UB), 3.2, fifth; Hower, (V), 6, fourth.

"Most of these girls just started gymnastics this year," said Upward. "It has been great to watch them grow as gymnasts."
